Embed custom video clips as overlay layers directly inside your chart animation.
What the Video Overlay does
Video Overlay lets PRO users upload and embed short video clips as a canvas layer, synchronized to the timeline. Use it for picture-in-picture effects, background video loops, talking-head overlays, or any video element that needs to appear alongside your animated chart. Supports MP4 and WebM formats.
Available on Pro and Creator.
How to use the Video Overlay
- Open Overlays and Media and click Video Overlay. Upload an MP4 or WebM clip.
- Set the clip start time on the timeline. Adjust size, position, and opacity on the canvas.
- Loop short clips for ambient background video or use full-length clips for picture-in-picture effects.
When to use it
- Add a picture-in-picture talking head in the corner while the chart plays.
- Loop a subtle background motion video behind the chart for visual depth.
- Embed a short screen recording clip showing a live trading platform alongside the chart.
Tips
- Compress video clips before upload to reduce load times in the editor.
- Use a looping short clip (2-5 seconds) for background video to avoid obvious repeat points.
- Round-corner the video panel with CSS border-radius for a modern inset look.
