Path Tool

Draw multi-point straight-line paths between anchor points on the canvas.

Multi-point · Straight segments · Click to place

What the Path Tool does

The Path Tool lets you draw custom multi-segment straight-line paths by clicking to place anchor points anywhere on the canvas. Each click adds a new point connected by a straight segment, so you can build any angular shape - zigzags, custom arrows, channel outlines, step patterns, and irregular annotation shapes that the standard line tool cannot create. Leave the path open or close it to form a polygon.

Included on every plan, including Free.

How to use the Path Tool

  1. Select Path Tool from Drawing Tools and click to place your first anchor point on the canvas.
  2. Click additional points - each one connects with a straight line segment to the previous point.
  3. Double-click to finish the path open, or click the first point to close it into a polygon shape.

When to use it

  • Draw a multi-segment trendline that follows angled price action across several pivot points.
  • Create a custom polygon outline around a chart region to highlight a specific price zone.
  • Build a step-pattern annotation showing a staircase of higher highs across a trend.

Tips

  • Close the path into a polygon and set a low fill opacity (15-25%) for a custom highlight zone.
  • Use dashed stroke style on an open path to create a projected price path annotation.
  • Layer a closed path outline on top of a Group Candle sequence to frame a consolidation range.
