Multi-Track Timeline
Layer multiple elements across parallel timeline tracks with precise timing control.
What the Multi-Track Timeline does
The Multi-Track Timeline is the core sequencing interface in ChartAnimator. Every element you add to the canvas becomes a track on the timeline. You can layer dozens of tracks, control start and end times by dragging clip edges, reorder tracks, and lock or mute individual layers. The timeline is the command center for your entire animation.
Included on every plan, including Free.
How to use the Multi-Track Timeline
- Every element added to the canvas appears as a colored strip on its own timeline track.
- Drag clip edges to set start and end times. Drag the whole clip to shift its position.
- Reorder tracks by dragging them up or down in the timeline panel.
When to use it
- Sequence a 10-layer chart animation with candles, zones, trendlines, and text appearing at precise moments.
- Build a multi-scene video by having different chart elements enter and exit at timed intervals.
- Lock finished tracks to prevent accidental edits while working on new layers.
Tips
- Use the zoom controls at the bottom of the timeline to work precisely on tight timing windows.
- Group related tracks together (all annotation layers) to keep the timeline organized.
- Mute a track to temporarily hide it during editing without deleting it.
