What the Timeline Mini Map does

The Timeline Mini Map is a navigation strip that appears above the timeline when you zoom in past 2x. It shows a scaled-down view of every track and every layer across the full project duration - color-coded by layer type - with a highlighted viewport indicator showing exactly where you are. Click or drag anywhere in the mini map to jump to that position instantly, without losing your current zoom level. Auto-shows when zoom reaches 2x and can be toggled on or off at any time.

Included on every plan, including Free.

How to use the Timeline Mini Map

  1. Zoom the timeline past 2x and the mini map appears automatically above the track area.
  2. The mini map shows all tracks as colored rows - blue for candles, green for trading tools, purple for drawing tools, cyan for text.
  3. Click any position on the mini map to jump there instantly. Drag the viewport indicator left or right to scroll while staying zoomed.

When to use it

  • Navigate a 60-second project while zoomed into a 3-second section to fine-tune timing.
  • Jump between a title card at the start and an exit annotation at the end without hunting through the timeline.
  • Get a full-project structural overview to check your layer composition before export.

Tips

  • Use the mini map toggle button (Map icon in the timeline header) to show it at any zoom level, not just 2x+.
  • The color coding matches the timeline tracks exactly - use it as a quick visual audit of your project structure.
  • Dismiss the mini map with the × button when you no longer need it to reclaim vertical space.
