What the Zoom Drill does

Zoom Drill is ChartAnimator's multi-timeframe analysis tool. You place one or more Higher Timeframe (HTF) candles on the canvas - a daily candle, a weekly bar, any key bar you want to break down - then designate a focal candle and watch it expand into its Lower Timeframe (LTF) structure. The LTF candles animate in automatically, showing the exact price action that built that single HTF bar. It is the most powerful storytelling tool for multi-timeframe analysis, trade breakdowns, and educational chart content. Viewers go from the big picture to the micro detail in one seamless animation.

How to use the Zoom Drill

1. Open the Chart Builder hub and select Zoom Drill. Place your HTF candles - these represent the higher timeframe context (e.g. daily bars).
2. Tap the focal candle to designate it as the drill target. ChartAnimator highlights it with a blue selection ring.
3. Set the number of LTF candles (4–20) that will animate in to reveal the internal structure. Adjust LTF candle color, size, and animation speed.
4. Add to canvas. The HTF candles appear first, then the focal candle expands and the LTF candles draw in one by one.

When to use it

• Show a weekly bull candle and drill into the daily bars that formed it - perfect for swing trade breakdowns.
• Reveal the hourly price action inside a key daily reversal candle for a trade recap video.
• Explain the concept of multi-timeframe confluence by showing how LTF structure aligns with the HTF trend.
• Create a dramatic "zoom in" reveal for a YouTube thumbnail moment - big candle expands to show the full story.

Tips

• Use blue for LTF candles to visually separate them from the green/red HTF candles - it instantly signals a different timeframe.
• Slow the LTF animation speed for educational content so viewers can follow each individual bar as it forms.
• Pair with a trendline overlay on the LTF side to show support/resistance levels inside the focal candle.
• Stack a Note Callout on the focal candle before the drill fires to label the timeframe - "Daily Candle: Inside View".
• Use the LTF count strategically: 4–6 candles for a simple breakdown, 12–20 for a detailed institutional analysis video.
