Verdict

Depends on whether you animate concepts or just candles

CandleMotionFX is a genuinely free candlestick generator and it exports transparent video, which ChartAnimator does not. If all you need is a clean candle sequence to drop over existing footage, it does that job at no cost. What it does not do is understand trading concepts. Order blocks, fair value gaps, liquidity sweeps, BOS and CHoCH have to be drawn by hand on top. ChartAnimator treats those as native objects tied to the price sequence, which is the difference between animating a chart and animating the setup you are teaching.

Choose ChartAnimator if...

✓You teach SMC or ICT and need order blocks, FVGs and liquidity sweeps as real objects
✓You want the annotation to appear at the exact candle it relates to, not pasted on afterwards
✓You build the same setups repeatedly and want reusable templates
✓You need multi-layer scenes, keyframes and narration in one place
✓You publish to YouTube and Shorts and need both aspect ratios

Choose CandleMotionFX if...

→You only need a plain candle sequence with no trading annotations
→You need a transparent background to composite over existing footage
→You want to export without paying anything at all
