If you have searched for how to edit a trading chart video, you have probably landed on CapCut graph tutorials, Canva stock market templates and PowerPoint candlestick slides. They all look close to what you want. None of them actually animate a trading chart. Here is what each tool can do, where it stops, and how to combine them.
Editing a trading chart video in CapCut
CapCut is an excellent editor, and free. It handles cuts, auto captions, music, transitions and keyframes. What it does not have is a candlestick chart. To show a chart in CapCut you import a screenshot from TradingView, then fake movement with keyframes: zoom in, pan across, wipe a mask to reveal it.
- Good for: assembling the final video, captions, pacing, voiceover.
- Limit: the chart is a picture. Candles cannot print one by one, and a zone cannot appear at the moment price reaches it.
Editing a trading chart video in Canva
Canva is quick for thumbnails and simple animated slides. Its chart elements cover bar, line and pie charts, not candlesticks. Stock market templates give you a trading look, but the data in them is decoration, not your setup.
- Good for: thumbnails, title cards, branded intros.
- Limit: no candlestick charts, and animation is limited to whole elements sliding or fading in.
What about PowerPoint?
PowerPoint can draw an open-high-low-close stock chart from spreadsheet data, and that is why candlestick PowerPoint templates exist. Animating it candle by candle is clumsy, and the finished result tends to look like a presentation rather than a trading video.
Editing a trading chart video with ChartAnimator
ChartAnimator does the one job the others cannot: trading animation. You build the chart itself, candle by candle, then add zones, Fibonacci, Elliott waves, trendlines, entries, stop losses and take profits that animate in on the timeline. You export it as an MP4 and edit that clip like any other footage.
The fastest workflow: use them together
- Write the script and record the voiceover.
- Build each chart scene in ChartAnimator and export the MP4s.
- Assemble voice and chart clips in CapCut, add captions and music.
- Make the thumbnail in Canva from a frame of your best chart moment.
- Export at 1080p and publish with a title people actually search for.
