Step-by-step guide

How to Animate Trading Charts
for YouTube and TikTok

Bar-by-bar candlestick animations that show exactly how a trade unfolded. No animation experience required. No After Effects. First video ready in under 30 minutes.

Trading chart videos consistently outperform static image posts on every platform. Here is exactly how to make them.

The 5-step process

01
Set up your chart

Choose your instrument (forex pair, crypto, stock, or index) and timeframe. Add your candles by entering price data or drawing them directly on the canvas. ChartAnimator supports all major timeframes from M1 to monthly.

Tip

Start with a higher timeframe (H4 or Daily) for YouTube content - these patterns are cleaner and easier for viewers to follow.

02
Annotate your setup

Add the context that makes the trade educational. Supply and demand zones, key horizontal levels, trend lines, Fibonacci retracement - every annotation tool is built for trading, not generic diagramming.

Tip

ICT order blocks, fair value gaps, and market structure labels are all available as native overlays. No need to draw boxes manually.

03
Mark the trade

Add your entry, stop-loss, and take-profit levels using the position marker tool. The setup is now ready to animate - you have the context, the setup, and the outcome all in one frame.

Tip

Risk-to-reward lines automatically calculate and display the ratio. Viewers immediately understand the trade without you explaining the math.

04
Animate bar-by-bar

Hit animate and ChartAnimator draws each candle in sequence - wick first, then body - exactly like watching a live chart. Adjust the playback speed, add pause points on key candles, and control when annotations appear.

Tip

Slow the animation on the trigger candle (the one your viewers need to learn to spot). Speed up the run-up. Create natural visual emphasis without editing software.

05
Export and upload

Export as an MP4 for YouTube and TikTok, a GIF for Twitter and Discord, or a PNG for thumbnails. 1080p is available on all paid plans. 4K exports on Creator. No watermark on Pro and above.

Tip

For YouTube Shorts and TikTok, export in 9:16 vertical format. The canvas resizes automatically - you do not need to recreate the chart.

Export for every platform

One chart animation, multiple export formats. You do not need to recreate anything for each platform.

YouTube
